A lot of people won’t post their student work, because, quite honestly, it isn’t as good as their current capabilities.  But everyone starts at the bottom, and so even though the videos on this page aren’t the best I’ve ever done, they’re representative of where I started.  I like remembering that feeling of excitement, of working with friends, of doing something crazy and fun, often for the first time! Plus, now when I do something I’m really proud of, I can plainly see the improvement!

Cowboy Connection “Lazy Boyfriend” Promo

I made this video back in 2006.  This was my first promo for Cowboy Connection, a student-made variety show produced for a video production class. The video playing on the TV is actually a music video for “Gangster’s Paradise” our entire class did as a skit for the show.  Incidentally, the guy in the video is now my future brother-in-law!

Cowboy Connection “Bus” Promo

This little spot represents the very first time I ever tried motion keyframing.  My pathetic little attempt to motion track the words “Cowboy Connection” on the bus as it drove by really impressed my fellow classmates back then.  Now it reminds me of a stick figure drawing on the refrigerator of some Kindergartner’s parents.  I have definitely come a long way in the motion graphics area!

OSU “Fight Night” Promo

I came up with the idea to do an impromptu boxing match in the Student Union for Cowboy Connection, and this was the promo for that particular skit.  Lots of good memories from this little project :)

OSU “Fight Night” – Student Union Boxing Match

This was also made for Cowboy Connection.  It was the first multi-cam video I ever edited.  My friends and I had so much fun shooting this!! It now has a respectable 3,000+ views on YouTube.

“Our Town: The Bellis Street Story”

This was actually a 2007 OBEA Award-winning entry for Video Documentary Feature.  This is actually a shorter version uploaded to YouTube.  Sadly, I don’t have a copy of the original anymore, and the quality isn’t quite as good as the original either.
